Fixing Water Hammer in Pipes

Water hammer is an issue in a lot of homes.

It can be caused by a combination of loose piping, high water pressure, undersized piping or faulty valves.

It is characterised by a loud banging noise when taps are turned on or off or when washing machines and dishwashers are in use.

Unfortunately it’s not always possible to eradicate the cause of water hammer but there are methods to reduce it to an acceptable level.
