In this job the customer became concerned when they could smell a strong gas smell near their gas meter.
Jemena inspected and tested the customers gas service and confirmed there was a substantial leak somewhere in his gas service. As a safety precaution Jemena disconnected the gas service and then issued a Certificate of Non-Compliance requiring the customer to have the gas leak repaired by a licensed plumber.
We attended the residence and determined that the existing galvanised steel gas service should be replaced with copper and the customer was satisfied with our lump sum quotation to complete the work.
To dig the trench for the new copper service we used our Kanga Loader with trencher attachment which you can see at work in the photo. The beauty of this specialised machine is that it digs a very narrow trench and as a result does minimal damage to lawn and landscaped areas.
On connecting the new service, we carried out thorough testing to ensure there were no leaks and then issued the customer and Jemena with a Certificate of Compliance to certify that the work was carried out and tested in accordance with the applicable Australian Standards.
If you notice a gas smell on your property or have been issued a Certificate of Non-Compliance contact Poole & Co as we have the expertise and equipment to detect any leak and offer a range of solutions to rectify them.
